California phlebotomy training
California phlebotomy training for most jobs runs through a state certificate. The Department of Public Health, Laboratory Field Services, sets that path.
For most blood-drawing work, California expects a Certified Phlebotomy Technician certificate issued by the state, commonly discussed as CPT I or CPT II. The state requires approved training, a set of documented draws, and a national exam. A school in another state, and a national credential alone, do not replace that certificate.
Schools on the state’s approved phlebotomy training list are marked on their cards in this directory. The mark means the name appeared on that public list. It does not mean we inspected the classroom, and it does not mean every program at that institution is the phlebotomy course. Confirm the course title with the school and with the current state list.
Limited phlebotomy technician rules are different and narrower. If you are choosing a program, say the job you want and ask whether the program meets the certificate you need. Then use the California city pages to see who is listed near you.
This directory marks 275 California schools from the Department of Public Health approved-training list. 305 California schools appear in the state index.
