Independent directory of U.S. phlebotomy schools

Length

How long is phlebotomy training?

Phlebotomy training is usually weeks, not years. The number on a listing is the course calendar, not the time until your first paycheck.

Federal completion records often classify the award as a certificate of less than twelve weeks or of less than one year. Workforce listings sometimes print a week count. This directory shows those figures as “weeks listed” because the source, not we, chose the number.

Add the pieces the week count skips: application time, immunization appointments, the externship if it sits outside the classroom weeks, the exam date, and hiring. A six-week class can still be a three-month project.

Longer is not automatically more thorough, and shorter is not automatically a shortcut. Match the hours to the skills you still need, especially the number of supervised draws.

Across published week counts in this directory, listed lengths run from 1 to 260 weeks. That is the source’s number, not a promise that every week is full time.

Questions

Can I finish in a month?

Some calendars are that short. Only if you can attend the full schedule and the program still includes the draws.

Why do hours and weeks both appear?

Different sources publish different units. We show the unit the record used and do not convert it into a claim the source did not make.
