Phlebotomy jobs
Phlebotomy jobs are in hospitals, laboratories, blood donor centers, and clinics. Training gets you into the applicant pool. It does not place you.
The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports a median pay of $43,660 a year ($20.99 an hour) for phlebotomists in May 2024, about 139,700 jobs, and employment growth of 6 percent from 2024 to 2034, with roughly 18,400 openings a year. Pay is higher in some outpatient and laboratory settings and lower in others. Local wages are not the national median.
Openings are not spread evenly. A small city may have one hospital lab. A large metro may hire every month and still prefer a credential or a year of draws. Read current postings in the city where you will live before you pick a school in a different city.
Applications go further with a clean draw log, the school certificate, and the exam result if the posting names one. This directory can show you the schools. It does not take applications for jobs and it does not know who is hiring this week.
